Tayler graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2019, and she will be a first year dental student at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus starting in Fall 2020. Tayler hopes to become a pediatric dentist in the future. Tayler is very passionate about mentoring students and uplifting her community through service.

Director of Recruitment

As the Director of Recruitment for PHAA, Wesley Tran is responsible for always reaching out to potential new mentors. Wesley is a current medical student at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He completed his undergraduate degree with a B.A. In Psychology and a Certificate in Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder. From there, he continued his education at Regis University, completing an M.S. in Biomedical Science. He is interested in becoming a pediatric surgeon with the goal of aiding future underserved patients and their families. Additionally, he hopes to inspire a new generation of underrepresented students to pursue a career in the healthcare field. On his free time, he enjoys trying out new food places, hiking, dancing, football, watching movies, and spending time with his friends and family.

Director of Events

Laveen Khoshnaw studied Biomedical Sciences, Political Science and Leadership as a Boettcher Scholar at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. As one of two Directors of Events, Laveen is responsible for organizing and executing PHAA's online Zoom events for pre-medical students. "I love cooking and creatively experimenting with food (mainly because I love to eat!) I write and play music on several different instruments, and have recently become more and more drawn to middle eastern musical scales like the Hijaz scale. I am passionate about public education, urban policy, leadership, and of course, medicine! Traveling and exploring new cultures is the highlight of my life."

M&M Relations Director

Noah Griffin is one of the M&M Relations Directors for PHAA, and is responsible for overseeing smooth relationships between mentors and mentees. Noah graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019 with a B.A. in Biochemistry and a Certificate in Neuroscience, and is in the process of applying to medical school. He currently is a clinical research coordinator at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as part of the Phase 1 Oncology Team, where he is involved in cancer research by working with patients and a wide variety of clinical oncology trials. Noah hopes to one day improve the lives of those around him in his community as a future physician. In his free time, Noah loves to go hiking, skiing and enjoy everything the beautiful state of Colorado has to offer!

M&M Relations Director

Itzel Martinez is one of the two M&M Relation Directors for PHAA. Itzel is responsible for checking in after meetings to make sure they go smoothly and being in touch with mentors and mentees in case they need anything from the PHAA staff. Itzel graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a B.S. in Public Health and a minor in Health Humanities in 2018, and she will be a first-year Physician Assistant (PA) student at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus starting in summer of 2020. Some of Itzel's passions include being an advocate for underrepresented communities and finding ways to encourage people of color to join the medical field.
